Facts about Ellysea

​

Mother Sun, Infant Sun and Father Moon have been gone for one thousand years.

Mother Sun and Infant Sun used to rise in the South and set in the North.

​

The equator runs from North to South, through Ganelle and the eastern part of New Thoranbolt. 

​

Since the Saviour took the Suns and Moon to Ellaryne (the afterlife) upon Ascension, the grass no longer grows and the trees are barren. Ellysea is brown and muddy with patches of gremeli--a brown grass-like plant--growing here and there.

 

The rocks and barren trees are often covered in lachee--a grey fungus.

The only flowers left in Ellysea are called Vatha. They are brown, brittle and smell like mold.

Fruits and vegetables do not grow and most people live off of the fungus that grows abundantly... Mushroom soup, anyone? 

​

Livestock lives off of the gremeli.

​

The capital city (Where the King and Queen reside) is Laros City in Laros Territory.

Ellysea is made up of twelve Territories. 

​

The rulers of most territories are called Majestic (male) and Majestica (female).

​

Rahune, Malekad and Ailus are the only territories that are governed by an Electa--a ruler elected by the people.

​

Zanbal is ruled by an Elder from the church.

​

Laros City is the capital city and the King and Queen live there and rule Laros, along with the rest of Ellysea. Laros also owns all of the crowned lands that are often uninhabited-- Cursed Lands, Dead Lands, the Ruins of Geronah and Loksmare.

​

Nine of the territories were once Kingdoms, before the War of Holt, in the year 99 BA (Before Ascension). The nine original kingdoms were Laros, Caspieria, Thoranbolt,  Verachi, Ganelle, Rahune, Eston, Zanbal and Lottindale.

​

Meruth, Malekad, and Ailus were formed over the years during wars between Verachi and Caspieria. Meruth is often allied with Caspieria, Ailus historically had an alliance with Verachi and Malekad tries to stay neutral.

Ellysea tax is paid by all territories to Laros.

Territory tax is paid to the Majestic of each individual territory--rates differ between territories.

As you can see, Ellysea is very much a water planet. 

​

The landmass accounts for a very small portion of the planet. 

​

Because the equator runs from north to south and the planet rotates from north to south, the poles are on the east and west of the planet. 

​
